   A Fighter for the People

Will Holley is a dedicated community advocate, father, and candidate for Charlotte City Council At-Large. Born and raised in rural Gates County, NC, Will knows firsthand what it means to grow up with limited resources and big dreams. Raised by his grandmother, he was taught early on that “a little can be a whole lot when you have nothing.” That mindset instilled in him a deep sense of resilience, gratitude, and responsibility to give back.

In 2008, Will moved to Charlotte seeking opportunity—and quickly became a part of the city’s heartbeat. From mentoring young people and advocating for underserved neighborhoods to working alongside families facing hardship, Will has spent the last 15 years creating pathways for others to succeed. His work has never been about headlines—it’s been about people. He believes in showing up, listening, and taking action where it’s needed most.

Now, he’s running for City Council At-Large to bring that same hands-on leadership to every corner of Charlotte. Will’s campaign is rooted in equity, accountability, and unity—with a vision of a city where every resident, no matter their background or zip code, has access to opportunity, safety, and the dignity they deserve. His mission is simple: to ensure no one in Charlotte has to struggle alone.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

Will Holley knows what it feels like to have his voice ignored—and that’s exactly why he’s running to ensure no one in Charlotte ever feels the same.

One of the most defining moments of his life was the heartbreaking loss of his oldest son to suicide. It was a tragedy that shook his family to its core and exposed the deep, dangerous gaps in our city and state’s mental health systems.

“The system told us they would be there, but they weren’t. The programs in place weren’t effective because they weren’t implemented with care or consistency. My son, and so many others, deserved better.”

Rather than let his grief silence him, Will transformed his pain into purpose. He became a vocal advocate for Charlotte’s youth and families—committed to strengthening mental health services, expanding access to trained professionals, and ensuring community-based programs receive the support and funding they need. His journey of healing and advocacy led him into leadership—where he could fight not just for one district, but for every family across the city that deserves better care, real support, and leaders who truly listen.

A Leader Who Steps Up, Not Back

In 2022, driven by his deep commitment to community service, Will Holley joined his local Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and was soon elected PTA President. In that role, he witnessed firsthand how lack of funding and limited awareness of available resources left too many students and families without the support they needed.

Instead of standing by, Will took action. He advocated for increased school funding, connected families with vital programs, and worked to ensure no one felt left behind. His leadership made a real impact—bridging gaps, building trust, and delivering results where it mattered most.

That same spirit of service drives his work today. Will is the founder and owner of Holley Construction, a successful business that creates jobs and economic opportunities across the city. He also serves on the Public Relations Committee for the Mecklenburg County Commissioner’s Office, helping strengthen communication between local government and the people it serves.

Will remains a tireless advocate for policies that uplift working families, improve access to education, and expand mental health support—especially for at-risk youth and underserved communities. His leadership is rooted in lived experience, and his mission is clear: to help build a city where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

The Path to Change Starts Here-Because will is the way

For far too long, too many communities across Charlotte have been overlooked, underfunded, and unheard. Will Holley is running for City Council At-Large to change that for everyone.

He understands the real-life struggles of working families, seniors, and young people just trying to make it—but he also believes survival isn’t enough. Charlotte deserves more.

“We deserve a city where families can thrive, children are uplifted, and every person—no matter their background—has a real chance at success and the dignity to live well. That’s the future I’m fighting for. If you’re ready for change, let’s build it together. Follow the path forward—because Will is the way.”
